As you go through tough times in life, who are you talking to? Who are you confiding in? I only ask because I know as women we are sharers. Sometimes we may overshare, which could be considered a negative thing, but at least I can say that as women we definitely get our feelings out there.
Dear man reading this post, who are you talking to? I only ask because I worry. I am concerned that you may not have an outlet, especially when it counts. Who tells you, “Bro, I need you to rethink breaking up with this girl before you leave a woman that has been by your side for years?" Who is there talking you out of walking away from amazing opportunities? See, I fear that society has told you that being a man means not having to consult with anyone when making big decisions. I fear that we as women have placed you in these unrealistic ‘manly’ roles that when you break mentally, we lose respect for you instead of being a listening ear. I’m sorry if we have pushed you into a corner and now you feel as though you cannot talk about what you are going through with us.
Dear man reading this post, who are you talking to? I only ask because I care. I care about how you come to conclusions. I care about who your decisions affect. I care because I’m tired of seeing my girl friends get out of relationships where rush decisions were made. I care because I got out of a relationship where the man I was with never sought council, which to me, was a dangerous place to be. In my opinion, a man who doesn't seek council is a man that I consider dangerous. No one knows everything and no one is right 100% of the time.
So once again I ask, dear man reading this post, who are you talking to?
Three women going through life.
