"You used to call me on my cell-u-lar de-vice at night"… or in the morning if that’s more your steelo.
Remember that time back when..
WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE NIGHTS?
Now, for clarification… I am not speaking for all women, or (to be honest) anyone other than myself and some of my closest friends, but there is something to be said about a man that picks up the phone and calls when he wants to talk or hear about my day. Texting is cool for quick conversations or check ins, but having an actual conversation with someone is soo much better. Taking the time out of your day to focus on that person, even if it is only for a few minutes can improve your chances ten-fold. There is a huge difference between typing LOL and hearing laughter on the other end of the line. Plus, if she's into you she'll definitely want to hear about your day.
There are some huge advantages to talking on the phone. Similar to talking in person, when on the phone, she may reveal or talk about things she normally wouldn’t through text message. There's an opportunity to discuss more than just how your day was--you can get into political, philosophical, musical, and spiritual conversations. You also won’t have to wait (20 minutes, 6 hours, or 1 day) for her to think of the perfect response. Talking on the phone allows you to spend time getting to know the real woman on the other end of the line…not the perfectly crafted one that is a blend of her and her two best friends. You get to hear her smile, laugh, sarcastic tones, and hesitations and she gets to hear and learn yours. Phone calls can also help alleviate mixed messages that may be interpreted incorrectly through text message. Quite honestly, its exhausting trying to figure out if someone put crying face emojis (or lol) because they are really laughing about the situation or if they are trying to lessen the blow.
Lastly, think about it… why wouldn’t you want to be the last thing she thinks about at night, and the first thing that makes her smile when she is getting ready in the morning.
