Lately, it seems like the world has gotten a little crazier, from nuclear threats in North Korea, to Trump and all his antics, Hurricane disasters and racial tensions and divides, it seems that everywhere we turn there’s no escaping the apocalypse (at least that’s how it seems). So where do you go to find a little solace or relief? Well let me tell ya! It’s Netflix to the rescue. Sometimes in the midst of chaos, a little comedic relief is just what you need to escape your harsh reality. Audrey Hepburn said it best “laughter can cure a multitude of ills” and right now we need a whole lot of laughter. Below, I have listed 4 of my favorite comedic relief shows on Netflix to help ease your mind and escape reality - even for a little bit. Are you in the mood for a mockumentary? Or crazy hilarious shows? Don’t worry I got you covered!
Ok this is one of my all-time favorite shows! I was kind of late to the game on the Office, and just started watching it about a year ago on Netflix, and now I am completely hooked! I have watched all the available seasons about 5 or more times now, and can’t get enough. This show really put a new and appealing light on “mockumentary.” Based on the adaptation from the British version, Steve Carell and the diverse cast of characters really made this show binge worthy and enticing. Now if you do not have a dry sense of humor, this might not be your taste. To truly get it, you have to pay close attention to the hilarious punchlines, but I promise you - it is so worth the watch.
Just typing this, I am already laughing my butt off. What can I say about Shameless? This show is absolutely mind blowingly ridiculously funny. This dramatic comedy follows the life of a dysfunctional family living in Chicago, dealing with their alcoholic father brilliantly played by William H. Macy and getting by with what they have, all while using a by any means necessary (seriously any Means) to survive approach! Check it out and let me know what you think!
This show is either a hit or miss depending on your comedic taste. But I am a huge fan of Zoey Deschanel, so it’s one of my favorites. New Girl is all about friendship and the trials that come with adulthood. The show tends to dip into a bunch of rom-com clichés but I enjoy shows like this, so I don't mind it. If you are into cliche shows, then New Girl just might work for you!
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
All the characters in this show are just completely crazy, despicable and hilarious. This show is just wrong on so many levels, dysfunctional and not politically correct (all the things I love in a comedy). The show follows a group of friends who own Paddy’s Irish bar in Philadelphia — Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Charlie (Charlie Kelly), Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito). They are self-centered and always tend to get in alot of trouble. This show cracks me up every time and so worth the binge!

If you are like me and love to follow trends but throw your own spin on them then this velvet trend is for you.
I’ll be honest, I was never a huge fan of velvet but the older I’ve become, the more adventurous i’m becoming with my fashion style - enter the velvet trend with an #Africancocktail twist.
Here are three ways you can spruce up your velvet look:
Velvet on velvet
Yes, I said it! Can you have too much velvet? Yes - but if done right, it looks flawless and classy. I paired my velvet bodysuit - yes folks, (you heard right) with a velvet pleated skirt. This look is clean, classy and the perfect look for a holiday work party
Velvet with accessories
Velvet with accessories - in my opinion accessories always make or break a look. In this case, I added my African print clutch and green tassel earrings to complete my velvet dress ensemble.
Velvet with a pop of color
I live for vibrancy in a look. Black on black with no pop of color to me #issano. So when I got into the velvet trend I had to throw in some color! In this case - the color was red: peacoat, strappy heels and gorgeous Aldo clutch.
I’ve had so much fun styling with velvet and I love it! Have you gotten into the trend? Show us your looks by tagging #thefearlesself or #fearlessfashion.
