As a traveling consultant, Monday mornings are the true test of how much of a road warrior you are. It is on Mondays when the #consultantlife is tested. Are you able to hop on a plane, land, and then walk into a business meeting, all while looking professional and maintaining your need for comfort? One of the tricks of the trade that I have come up with over the years is to always have a ‘go bag’. Yes, if you ever find yourself having to make a transition from the airplane into a business meeting, these are the five things that you should always have with you to ensure that you remain both comfortable and ready to slay. Impossible? Of course not-- here’s how
Bonus: The airport arrival bathroom - now stay with me. I know that this is not an actual ‘thing’ that can fit into a ‘go bag’, but the bathroom airport is a consultant’s best friend. This is literally where the magic happens. When I get off a flight, the first place I walk into is the bathroom. This is where I literally transform into a killer consultant. I start off with brushing my teeth then I double check that my hair is still in place and if I have to get my edges in line, I pull out my bottle and get to work! Then I put my blouse on and straighten my bottoms (skirt or pants). I bust out my oil and perfume but only after brushing my teeth. Once I have those settled out, I step into my heels and strut out of the bathroom a new woman ready to do business.
