The only water bottle you will ever need: HIdrate Spark 2.0

Recently, for the sixth time this year, I decided that it was time that I got serious about my health. I’m not getting any younger and my dresses are getting a little tighter so - it’s that time once again: lose it or have no more clothes!

One of the ways that I’m looking to improve my health is by drinking more water. Drinking more water can help you avoid overeating and putting on those devilish extra calories! I know it sounds really easy but I struggle with remembering to drink water. I sit at a desk all day and there are days when I am so engrossed in my work that I don’t even get up to drink any water! So being the planner that I am, I am setting these new habits into motion:
1. Buy a water bottle that reminds you that it’s time to drink

For this first step, I bought the Hidrate Spark 2.0. This water bottle comes with just the right amount of external accountability that I need, and fulfills my deep love for anything health related that incorporates technology. This bottle does a couple of cool things that I need to share with yall!
  • It tracks your water intake - this is much needed for me as I have a goal of 2000 ml a day. This bottle tracks my intake and then
  • Syncs with my iphone’s FitBit app to ensure that as I track my exercise and calories burnt, I can also track my water intake to ensure that I am meeting this target. ​

2. Every Time you see that glow, it’s time to drink

  • A fun add-on to this product is the glow - it glows every time you need to drink. This is key especially for me, as it provides an external prompt.This will help especially on the days when I’m heads down in a project!

3. Every Time you check your Instagram or Facebook, it’s time to drink
  • The final way that I’m ensuring that this new habit sticks is by adding an additional layer of accountability. Do you know how often, even on a busy day, we check our social media accounts? To this end, I have decided that everytime I look to see whats poppin on The Shaderoom, I will have to take a drink.

So far, I’ve been able to pull off a two week streak at this goal and I’m proud of myself!
