We tend to be a little different in comparison to our friends. Whether it’s because we are the first to try something new, book a solo trip because we simply want to go, or leave a job because we aren’t happy. We often find solace in books and movies; it’s probably one of the few times you’ll actually see us cry, since we are often deemed the strongest person in the room. That’s who we are, Fearless, it almost seems as if we are invincible. We are always laughing or smiling and ready to roll with the punches, never allowing the curveballs of life to take us out of the game.
We weren’t born this way you know. I have found that many members of this “secret society” have seen some very rough days. We have seen and experienced what rock bottom truly looks like: whether it was mentally, physically, spiritually or emotionally. We have lived through it and have promised ourselves to never go back. However, in that unlikely event that we find ourselves falling, we will never forget how to climb out.
Because of this, we tend to surround ourselves with others of the same tribe. We may never discuss the struggles of that person’s past life; however, we know that we are one in the same. When those dark days seem to be rounding the corner, that’s when the strength of this Fearless tribe truly comes to fruition. Through encouragement, presence and understanding we remind each other that we are all in this together.
When times get hard, you won’t be alone. We are here and will show up in a way you’ll understand. Whether it’s a phone call or text message, a bus or flight, or a book in the mail or praying over Facetime; we will be here. And we won’t go away, no matter how many times you try to push us and tell us that you’re fine. Remember we’ve all been there, we all may fall back there one day and we know you’ll also be there for us because that’s what WE do.
Three women going through life.
