Recently, I have been talking to many of my close friends and acquaintances about anxiety. It’s so interesting to hear how many of us frequently suffer through this almost debilitating feeling. So I decided to investigate how some people look so well put together on the outside and yet seem to really be going through it on the inside.
We wear masks to hide what’s really going on inside. We also practice avoidance - I don't want to address situation X or talk about how that made me feel right now. Finally, we learn to function with dysfunction.Instead of figuring out the root causes of our anxiety is, we avoid it by preoccupying our time with the latest events, meetings, parties or even brunch sesh with our friends.e choose to look functional to avoid addressing our dysfunction. Which brings me to this post.
