Sometimes our lives are like this picture. We feel as though we can't see where to go next. We feel stuck. During this time, it's important to realize that these moments are when the most crucial life decisions are made. In this state, where you cannot see a beginning or can't identify the end, that’s when you need to stay focused. Focused on your goals; on whatever the prize at the end of your proverbial rainbow is.
Looking outside this window also reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle. You know, the box shows you the picture of a cat next to a house but when you look at the pieces the first time around, you can't tell the roof from the cat in the picture on the box the pieces came in! Seeing how much frustration can come out of a situation like this, it's important to keep your eyes and focus on two things: what you know and what you hope for.
1. What you know
I) Remember that God is always there. This is always true. Probably the only thing that is certain in life.
II) Remember the experiences that you have been through. f Arm yourself with the lessons that these experiences have taught you. Lessons such as patience, loyalty or being joyful regardless of the situation. Remember to arm yourself with these tools during this period of uncertainty.
2.What you hope for
I) What goals have you set? What dreams have you written down? This period of uncertainty should point you to refocusing on what you are looking forward to. This period shouldn't frustrate you. It's a time for evaluation and reevaluation in some instances. Which goals have you already accomplished? Which are pending? Are these short or long term goals. Will you need to involve other people to make these attainable? Frustrations will not bear anything but more frustration, so figure out where it is coming from.
II) Remember that this is a period in time, and not your final destination. Knowing that eventually you will begin to see the ground and things will start clearing up is of great comfort. This period of uncertainty shouldn’t cause you to feel comfortable or helpless. It should energize you for what's coming. The clouds always clear up to give way to the sun or to give way to the ground as you land and begin to see things from a different perspective. Get ready to receive new insights or to execute your plans.
Stay focused and just breathe. This too shall pass.
