“Be careful who you tell your problems to, because 99% are happy you have them” -Unknown
I have learned very early on in life that it is always about the quality of people that you have in your life rather than the quantity. Due to this notion, I have been very careful and selective with those I choose to call friends and share my personal struggles and challenges with. I have learned that not everyone who smiles in your face is your friend or deserves to know your in-depth thoughts and feelings because 99% of those people do not care and are waiting for the opportunity to use your vulnerability against you. Strangers hardly hurt you, the most poisonous people usually come disguised as your friends or family. When you encounter this, you must have the courage to unapologetically remove those people from your life. After all, people only get away with what you allow.
