Life moves at alarming rates. In some ways we are all so much more connected than ever before, and in other ways we have never been more isolated. Every other meme on Instagram depicts a world where the collective ‘we’ would rather stay in, drink wine and watch Netflix versus enjoying a day out with the girls. One could easily come to the conclusion that the majority despises actually connecting with people.
If you have been following us for the past year or so, you’ll know we don’t believe that. We are very big on our tribes (groups of friends). We know that without them we would not be where we are today. These connections were not formed by only partying and eating together, but also by sharing our goals, weaknesses and the events that have been vital in helping us become the women that we are today.
In a world where it can be easy to feign friendships off of surface level conversations and the appearance of fraternization through IG posts and #squadgoals; lasting friendships are built on knowing and understanding each other. For example, it is one thing to know where your friends work, it’s another to know what they do and how it’s apart of their larger plan. I believe vulnerability is key to maintaining true and honest relationships. Next time you are with your crew, step out of the boundaries of casual conversation and go a little deeper. You never know what you may discover.
What do you and your tribe talk about when you dive deep?
Three women going through life.
