Lately, there have been some major things that have transpired in my life that have forced me to realize just how truly short life is. These events have reminded me just how important it is to live each day to the fullest, to be in the moment, and to appreciate the people in our lives. It seems that we only stop to ponder when life throws us a curveball or when a loved one passes away. They suddenly become popular to us again. It’s when we recognize their value or the void they left in our lives. This post is a wakeup call, urging everyone who reads this, to pay attention: to give people their flowers while they can still smell them.
It’s important to share the memorable stories not at their funerals, but while they are alive to hear them. We must recognize just how amazing our friends, family, lovers or co-workers are while they are still vivacious and breathing. It’s vital that we share with the world their beauty and talent before they’re gone. And although death is just a natural part of life, let us not wait till we hear ashes to ashes, dust to dust before we remember the rhythm of their voice, how important their words were, or the impact that they had on our lives.
Life is too short, so be kind to one another, appreciate people while you still have the chance. Support and care for them while they still need you and smother them with your love while you still have the opportunity to do so.
When was the last time you told a loved one how much you care? Do they know you love them? It’s not too late to start now!
Three women going through life.
