So, you thought you finally found your soulmate, your “ride or die” the “Romeo to your Juliet” or even the “Barack to your Michelle” - only to be disappointed in the end. No matter how it goes down, breakups are never pleasant.
Even the most amicable breakups can become emotionally and physically draining. Like many of us who have experienced this firsthand, a break up can turn your entire world upside down. However, there are a few things you can do to make it easier for you to transition into your new found single life.
1) It’s ok to mourn the loss but don’t wallow in your sadness: so turn off the sappy heart break Adele records--they won’t do you any good. He's not crying a river over you and you shouldn’t either.
2) Stop all forms of communications: this means put the phone down! No Instagram, Twitter or Facebook stalking. Oh, and definitely no calling him from a private number or getting your friends to do your dirty work.
3) Go ahead and get your life: you are a free agent now and you can be selfish to do what makes you genuinely happy. Don’t be afraid to try new things like pole dancing --and no i’m not talking about the strip club down your street, but join a fitness and wellness class. The purpose is to keep your mind off things and get your sexy back!
4) Have a positive outlook and don’t give up on love: just because you experienced hurt from the “dork in aluminum foil” doesn’t mean your “knight in shining armor” isn’t out there.
Remember the end of a miserable relationship prepares you for the right one.
