If you haven’t heard of her or seen one of her memes you’re in for a surprise. The outspoken, unfiltered, humble, Bronx native is one helluva package. The now infamous Cardi B has taken the world by storm, Cardi has never run from who she was whether discussing her youth, her stripping days, her stint on Love and Hip Hop NY or her current position as a rapper topping the billboard charts with Bodak Yellow.
She is the girl you hate to love, but just can’t help it. Authenticity is an attractive trait nowadays. While I didn’t follow her until after she left Love and Hip Hop, I saw one of her instavideos and became hooked. I can say that I now appreciate Cardi B and where she stands in our culture. Don’t get it confused, if you are a part of the ‘faint of heart crew’ she probably isn’t for you, but here is what I love about what I like to call “the Cardi B effect”.
"I'm a boss you a worker B*TCH... "
Today, we live in a world of fantasy, most of the relevant celebrities allow their PR teams to curate their thoughts and remain pretty silent outside of formulated IG posts and Tweets. Cardi has made it clear from the beginning who she is, where she’s from and what she’s about. She never signed up to be anyone’s role model, and if you decide you want to place that on her pedestal, that's on you. If she does something you don’t like, womp womp womp.
Three women going through life.
