It’s that time of the year again people, when romance takes the center stage. When all the love birds wait to see how their significant others will impress them with their creative romantic gestures. I’m a lover of love and I believe this should be done year round, but it also doesn’t hurt to just have one day set aside globally to celebrate Love! Celebrating love while being physically apart from each other can be difficult. Long distance relationships aren’t always the easiest but can be equally fulfilling if you get a little creative. So, on valentine’s day let your creativity stand out, just because you can’t physically be there with each other doesn’t mean you can’t effectively celebrate V-day.
Here are some creative ways to spend Valentine’s day with your boo thang while in a long-distance relationship.
1. Get Creative: How about a thoughtful, silly, love filled Video!
You can tell him/her how much they mean to you, the significance of them being in your life, and why you love them. You can even create a playlist of songs that reminds you of them and explain why you picked those songs. There’s so much you can say or do in the video to show your significant other how much you love them. And if you are a singer or musically talented: write them a song or sing your favorite to your sweetheart and make it romantic. If you want to go a simpler route but still be romantic, you can create a romantic photo collage, add songs to it and boom! You have a cute video worth sharing with your love.
2. Think outside the box:How about a little scavenger hunt!
Ok, it’s going to take some creativity but if this is your thing, you can totally do it. You can send your partner an email with clues, have your partner’s family, or friends help you with securing the clues or placing them in different places around their home or city to find, and the clues could lead to the ultimate surprise or gift that you have for them ( for example a romantic getaway for the two of you, a ticket to a concert etc.). You can even make the clues online like have him/her look for them on your social media accounts, website, email etc. Be creative! And have fun!
3. Virtual Celebration: How about a face-time or skype date night!
You can start off by sending a cute email, or text message asking your partner to spend valentine’s day with you virtually. You can come up with an itinerary of how the day will go, or keep some things a surprise if you like. Now as the day progresses, send your girl some roses, chocolate - you know, all that good stuff. Ladies, you can also send your man cute or sexy things that he will enjoy (like ordering his dinner to be delivered). Whatever it is that you both choose to do, the important thing is to make it fun-filled. As the night falls, you can watch your favorite romantic movies together, listen to your favorite love songs, facetime or skype your night away. Hey get a little kinky if you need to (we ain’t judging over here lol).
We hope these tips will help you as you plan your ultimate romance filled valentine’s day activities for your loved one. Long distance shouldn’t stop you from enjoying this day or having fun while you celebrate!
