Dear who shall not be named,
You are simply an outdated bigot, with the most oblivious outlook on life. In case you have forgotten, America was built upon embracing diversity and openness and not division or closed-mindedness. Your complete disregard of our values, moral obligations as a society, lack of empathy and respect to name a few, make you completely unfit to hold this prestigious office.
Your constant need to hurl insults and offensive remarks towards people of color, immigrants, refugee communities, and women (the list seriously just goes on) makes you a racist and misogynistic coward. But one thing that you have managed to do successfully is to remind us that although we have made huge strides as a society, there still remains a core group of bigots in this country that we must continue to contest.
Upon your inauguration into the Presidency, we have managed to witness worldwide solidarity in protesting your bigotry. We have seen Americans and our allies abroad, stand up for what is right and fight for the meaning of democracy and freedom for all. That is why your racist remarks that seem to play to your extremist’s surrogates won’t change a damn thing in this country. You have only fueled that fire within us. And because of that, we won’t sit idly by and watch our democracy go into extinction.
Lastly, Mr. Trump, in case you have forgotten, this country was built on the blood, sweat and tears of immigrants, refugees and people of color. So no, we refuse your so called ‘#muslimban and #refugeeandimmigrantban orders. You will not reduce us to being terrorists, rapists, drug dealers, or murderers. We are human beings for crying out loud. We are mothers, fathers, children, college educated graduates, doctors, interpreters, police officers, humanitarians and teachers. We are the very fearless people who sustain the American economy and society.
